The yield rate paradox in closed-loop supply chains

چکیده
We investigate the dynamics of a closed-loop make-to-stock supply chain consisting remanufacturer and manufacturer with first-order vector auto-regressive demand return process. Remanufactured products, considered as-good-as-new, partially satisfy market demand; newly manufactured products fill remainder. The cooperate to minimize sum 1) capacity costs at remanufacturing manufacturing processes, 2) finished goods inventory holding backlog cost, 3) cost dispose returned items not re-manufactured 4) collection cost. inspects in triage Only predetermined fraction (the yield rate) returns are re-manufactured. impact on system-wide In cost-sensitive setting, when unit is lower than manufacturing, it seems reasonable conjecture that higher yields lead costs. show always convex rate, suggesting could actually increase even This rate paradox originates from increased creating additional variability activities. By investigating boundary conditions we find minimal disposal penalty required entice process all returns.

Modelling Oligopolistic Closed Loop Supply Chains
This paper uses variational inequalities to model an oligopolistic closed-loop supply chain engaged in a Cournot pricing game. The manufacturers produce a homogenous product for a set of customer markets. The product can be comprised of both virgin materials and recycled materials obtained from used products returned by the customers. Society is modelled as an additional player whose objective ...
متن کاملDeterministic and Metaheuristic Solutions for Closed-loop Supply Chains with Continuous Price Decrease
In a global economy, an efficient supply chain as a main core competency empowers enterprises to provide products or services at the right time in the right quantity, at a low cost. This paper is to plan a single product, multi-echelon, multi-period closed loop supply chain for high-tech products (which have continuous price decrease). Ultimately, considering components rated to procurement, pr...
متن کاملImpact of government’s policies on competition of two closed-loop and regular supply chains
With progressing technologies and new features of production, new products compete with older ones in markets. Indeed, new products initiate contest with olden ones and this process repeats in different productions lifetime several times. In this situation recycling the olden products seems to be significant for supply chains. Governments often levy special tariffs for these products as a contr...
متن کاملNegotiation Strategy for Economical Reuse in Closed-Loop Supply Chains
Environmental problems are recognized as one of the most serious issues in these last few decades. Green supply chain management and sustainable supply chain management have gained increasing attention within both academia and industry. Previous studies proposed a closed-loop supply chain model and a negotiation protocol for increasing the amount of reused products and reducing waste products. ...
